Missy Shaw

Studio Operations

Missy trained as a dancer from the age of 4 on, beginning with Clytie Adams School of Ballet, in Kaysville, followed by training at “Studio C” with Kim Carver Chatterton.  Missy loves dancing, espeically hip hop, and is known to randomly just start dancing, no matter where she is at. Missy has worked with Luv 2 Dance since 2003.  She began as an Instructor, teaching all ages and levels of dance, then specializing with 3-5 year olds. Missy was the original creator of our Pixie Program Curriculum, and at that time, became the Pixie Program Director.  Missy has been a Director of our Recital Program as well, which she continues to assist those Directors. She has reorganized our studio operations in all areas, including studio financial operations, communications, accounting, marketing, and design.  She also designed and manages our website, as well as, assists in human resources and the management of our staff. Missy is one of the owners of  a new handrolled ice cream shop, located at The Gateway in Salt Lake City, called Sweet Rolled Tacos.  She loves working hard, being creative, and staying busy.  Missy enjoys spending time with family and friends, and serving other people.

Ashley Dayton

Ashley began her training at the age of 5 at Studio “C” which was then sold and that is when Luv 2 Dance was established.  Ashley also trained at Clytie Adams School of Ballet. She was a member of the Davis High School Drill team where she served as captain of the team all three years. She went on to coach the Davis High drill team for six years where she lead them to three region championships. Ashley was a school teacher for 11 years and is excited to go back to teaching in the Fall 2020! She is currently in her 21st year teaching at Luv 2 dance studio where she is the director over the elite-team competition teams. She is also currently an assistant coach for the Nixelle’s, Farmington High School’s Drill Team, whoa are the 2019-20 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS!!!  She enjoys spending time with her daughter Daisy and her son Dash, reading, shopping, coaching, and spending time with her family and friends. She loves that she can live her passion and teach her dancers to do the same.

Christy Mortensen

Performance Director & Instructor

Christy graduated from BYU in Dance Education. In 1998, Christy was awarded BYU’s teacher of the year.  Christy has been teaching dance for 25 years throughout Washington State, Virginia, and Utah. Christy is currently working at Luv2Dance as the director over our recital program. Outside of Luv2Dance, Christy teaches in the dance program at Farmington Jr. High and is the director of the dance company at FJH.  Christy has 3 children, loves to hike, and travel with her family.
