Somehow on the weekend of our competition the weather in Logan was beautiful. Normally early March in Logan, Utah doesn’t bring to the forefront of our minds warmth, but it was. And that’s not all that was right in the world that day, our L2D team was busy from Friday and down to the late hours of the evening on Saturday doing what they do best…dancing. It was a great competition and like always was full of accolades and plenty of trophies. Though individual dances and various pieces were busy collecting titles, it was the moment that Luv 2 Dance was named “Best Studio” that we are calling our crowning achievement for this past weekend.
To win this award each studio’s individual pieces were totaled up and averaged out. The studio with the highest average point accumulation was given this grand of all grand prizes. As the moments of suspense continued and the explanations of how this was decided and what it meant for that studio was announced, everyone in the auditorium of Logan High School were ready to hear who would take home this coveted prize. When “Luv 2 Dance” was called…our dancers, our supporters and all our directors went…in a word…nuts! An achievement we had done TOGETHER as one studio and one team! It was a great couple days of competition and we are so proud of each of our teams and each of our dancers. Together we can achieve anything!
Throughout the weekend of group competitions, Utah Dance Fest kept up to date the top 10 dances of the day. At one point L2D held on to 7 of those 10 spots, and ended the night with a coveted 6 of 10 spots in what would be the “Battle of the Best” competition. At the end of the night our studio was invited to attend Utah Dance Fest’s “Battle of the Best” competition and took home so many titles for our solo’s, duo’s, trio’s and group dances. To say that we had a good weekend would be an understatement!
