CHOREOGRAPHY EXPECTATIONS

Recital & Performance Program

  • MUSIC
    • PRE-approve song choice with director
    • L2D will pay for music if you don’t already have it
    • L2D can help with music cuts if your song needs to be cut
    • Music must be age appropriate
    • Song needs to be approximately 2 mins long
    • Provide director with final cut/version of music or upload it to dropbox
  • MOVEMENT & CURRICULUM
    • It is the choreographer’s responsibility to know the curriculum for the agee you are choreographing
    • If you need a copy of the curriculum, please let the director know
    • Include all essential curriculum elements in the piece
    • Movement must be age appropriate
    • Use of props must be pre-approved
  • DUE DATE FOR CHOREOGRAPHY (MUSIC & VIDEOS)
    • Submit to Director
    • Christmas Recital
      • August 25th: Song Choice to director
      • Sept 15th: Final cut of the music given to director or loaded into dropbox
      • Sept. 15th Video of the first one minute of the dance (see video)
      • Oct. 1st: Video of the remainder of the dance (see video)
    • Spring Recital
      • Jan. 1st: Song Choice to director
      • Jan 15th: Final cut of the music given to director or loaded into dropbox
      • Jan. 15th: Video of the first one minute of the dance (see video)
      • Feb. 1st: Video of the remainder of the dance (see video)
  • VIDEO
    • Provide video of movement from both the front and the back to the director – with the music
    • Provide video with counts only, no music, to the director
    • Only submit high quality videos.  You will be asked to resend a new video if quality is low.
  • PAYMENT
    • Christmas Recital choreography $30
      • Payment is issued in December Paycheck
    • Spring Recital choreography $30
      • Payment is issued in May Paycheck
  • RIGHTS OF CHOREOGRAPHY DISCLOSURE
    • Once choreography has be given to L2D, L2D then has the rights to use and reuse the given choreography. This choreography can be used and reused without financial obligations owed to the choreographer and without permission from choreographer.
